“This is one of my favorite artworks. Singing by women is forbidden in Iran, so I created this piece for an Iranian singer there. I wrote a script based on the music, which tells the story of a girl trying to express her love to a boy, although the boy doesn’t seem very interested.” I created it in 2015.

It’s time to sleep
Among all the music videos I’ve made, “It’s Time for Sleep” was the most challenging. The music is a lullaby by Samin Baghcheban, released in 1970. I created this animation as the final project for my MA in Animation. It’s a 7-minute traditional animation, hand-drawn on paper and digitally colored. It received an Honorable Mention for Best Animation for Kids at the International Tehran Biennial Animafest in 2015. Interestingly, I found that girls tend to enjoy it more than boys.”
